Publications for Initial Accreditation or Reaffirmation

In order for an institution to be considered for first-time accreditation by the THEA Board of Commissioners, the institution must:

  1. Be granted THEA-Candidate status by the THEA Board of Commissioners.
  2. Prepare a self-evaluation. The self-evaluation form can be downloaded from the ATHEA website.
  3. Pay the application fee for accreditation of 10,000 € to ATHEA.
  4. Undergo a site visit for peer review.
  5. Be reviewed by the THEA Board of Commissioners.

Reaffirmation of Accreditation

After 7 years following the date of accreditation, reaffirmation of accreditation is required in order for an institution to maintain its accredited status. In order for the institution to be considered for reaffirmation of accreditation by the THEA Board of Commissioners, the institution must:

  1. Be in good standing with ATHEA as an Institutional Member.
  2. Prepare a self-evaluation. The accreditation self-evaluation form can be downloaded from the ATHEA website.
  3. Pay its application fee for reaffirmation of accreditation of 10,000 € to the ATHEA.
  4. Undergo a site visit.
  5. Be reviewed by the THEA Board of Commissioners.
